Historic homes & buildings dressed out in holiday finery with the aroma of hot cider and unmistakable scents of evergreen for guests to enjoy. Guests traveling in style by horse-drawn carriages and festive Christmas carolers dressed in attire of yesteryear.
I hope you did not miss the tour because it will be two years before you can have the opportunity to tour Wake Forest grand homes. Pamela Andrejev and Sharon Rasmussen and I toured the homes and had a great time talking to the owners, friends and guests as we walked around town.
The home owners did a beautiful job of decorating their homes and showing the old town hospitality to all of their guests and friends. Wake Forest has always been a town who welcomed guests with a friendly smile and a warm hand shake. Wake Forest College was located here before the town. The town came later and was always used to having new faces each year come to the college and later to Southeastern Seminary which they called Wake Forest their home as they studied at the college and seminary.
Wake Forest has always been the place I call home. My husband, Jimmy, and I graduated the same year at Wake Forest High School and were the only couple in our graduating class that ended up married to each other. Our three children also graduated from Wake Forest High so I guess you can say for sure that this town is home to us.
Enough about the family and back to the beautiful Christmas tour of Wake Forest. We have included some pictures we took of some of the historic homes that we hope you will enjoy.
Please fill free to comment on the Christmas tour and send us any pictures or comments you would like us to share about the tour.
We wish a very Merry Christmas to you and your family from everyone in our family. Family and friends make Christmas special as we celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Happy Holidays!
